Statement of Faith

The Scriptures

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

Scripture Reference: 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21

The Godhead

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Scripture Reference: Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 John 5:7, Ephesians 4:4-6

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

Scripture References: John 1:1-14, Isaiah 7:14, Hebrews 4:15, Acts 1:9-11

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, according to Acts 2:4. We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in 1 Corinthians 12-14 and as manifested in the Early Church.

Scripture References: Acts 2:4, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

Sin and Salvation

We believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins. We believe that justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Scripture References: Romans 3:23, Acts 17:30, Romans 5:1, John 3:3-7

Healing

We believe in divine healing for the body as well as the soul. We affirm the power of prayer and faith to heal the sick through the direct intervention of the Holy Spirit. We believe that this healing can occur in various ways, including the laying on of hands, anointing with oil, and the prayers of agreement among believers.

Scripture References: James 5:14-16, Matthew 18:19-20

The Spiritual World

We believe in the reality of the spiritual world, acknowledging the existence of God's angels, as well as demonic forces. We affirm that spiritual warfare is a reality in the believer's life, and we stand on the authority of God's Word and the power of the Holy Spirit to gain victory over these forces.

Scripture References: Ephesians 6:12, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

The Church and the unity of believers

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender, and class differences. We also believe in the essential unity of all true believers, independent of varying theological positions and interpretations, recognizing the Body of Christ in its diversity and being committed to love and respect one another.

Scripture Reference: John 17:20-23, 1 Corinthians 12:12-13, Galatians 3:28, Ephesians 4:3-6

The Church's Mission

We believe that the church is commissioned to disciple all nations, spreading the Gospel and making followers of Christ through teaching and baptizing in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Scripture References: Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Mark 16:15-16

The Final Judgment

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

Scripture Reference: Matthew 25:31-46, John 5:28-29, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Revelation 20:11-15

The Second Coming

We believe in the imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Scripture Reference: Acts 1:10-11, 2 Peter 3:10, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
